广州市第六中学简介

广州市第六中学始建于1937年，有着黄埔军校和西南联大的血统，至今已有85年办学历史。学校是著名的重点中学，是 广东省首批省一级学校、广东省首批国家级示范性高中、广东省“书香校园”、广东省“绿色学校”、“全国民族团结进步模范单位”、“全国红十字模范单位”，是清华大学等双一流高校优质生源基地。

学校毗邻中山大学南校区，方圆3公里内聚集了20多个科研院所，学术氛围浓厚；学校交通便利，距离地铁8号线鹭江站50米，200米内有5个公交站；学校环境优雅，是广州市“花园单位”；设施齐全，拥有3A级饭堂5个；宿位充足，可以满足全员住宿。

学校以黄埔军校校训“亲爱精诚”为校训，以黄埔军校校歌为校歌。在新的历史时期，学校遵循“允文允武，惟德惟才”办学理念，将“培养懂感恩、会思考、能吃苦的六中人”作为教育目标，并提出“六行六艺,中正中和”文化宣传语。

学校办学定位清晰：“优化管理，注重细节；文化立校，踏实前行；文理兼容，特色发展。”学校是首批广东省青少年科学教育特色学校、全国科技创新十佳学校、全国科技发明示范基地、全国青少年人工智能教育示范基地、全国科技体育传统校、全国信息学奥林匹克优秀学校、全国信息学奥林匹克竞赛特色学校、全国青少年电子信息科普创新教育基地、全国青少年校园足球特色学校。

学校重视培养学生的国际化视野，2013年与德国法兰克福市马克思·贝克曼中学签订合作协议，结成友好姊妹学校，并互派师生访问学习，积极推动中西文化交流。

Guangzhou NO. 6 Middle School

Guangzhou No. 6 Middle School was founded in 1937, with the pedigree of the Whampoa Military Academy and the Southwest United University. With a history of 85 years, the school is known as a famous key middle school in Guangdong Province, entitled the first batch of provincial first-class schools, the first batch of state-level demonstrative high schools, the “Scholarly Campus”, the “Green School”, the “National Model Unit for National Unity and Progress”, and the “National Red Cross Model Unit”. With outstanding academic achievements in College Entrance Examinations in recent years, it’s also honored as the high-quality student source base of Tsinghua University and other double-first-class universities.

Adjacent to the Sun Yat-sen University and with more than 20 scientific research institutes gathering within a radius of 3 kilometers, the school features strong academic atmosphere. Located 50 meters away from Lujiang Station of Metro Line 8 with 5 bus stops within 200 meters, the school enjoys an advantage of convenient transportation. The school also has an elegant environment and is known as a “Garden Unit” in Guangzhou. Besides, the school provides well-equipped facilities, with 5 AAA canteens and sufficient accommodation for all the students.

The school takes the motto of “Camaraderie” from the Whampoa Military Academy and the song of it as the school song. In the new period, following the school philosophy of “Knowledge· Strength· Virtue· Talent” and the educative objectives of “cultivating students to be grateful, critical in thinking, and indefatigable”, the school put forward the slogan of “Fostering characters and talents, Achieving harmony and virtues”.

The school sticks to the principles of “optimizing management, prioritizing arts and science, developing distinctive subjects”. The school is one of the first batch of Guangdong Province Youth Science Education Characteristic Schools, National Top Ten Schools for Scientific and Technological Innovation, National Science and Technology Invention Demonstration Base, National Youth Artificial Intelligence Education Demonstration Base, National Science and Technology Sports School, National Informatics Olympiad School, Education Base of National Youth Electronic Information Science Popularization and Innovation, and National Youth Football Characteristic School.

The school attaches great importance to cultivating students’ international vision.  In 2013, it signed a cooperation agreement with the Max Beckmann Secondary School in Frankfurt, Germany. Since then, the two schools have become partner institutions to host visiting faculty programs, actively promoting cultural exchange between China and the world.
